Fitness Motivation for Women & Tips To Keep Up Your Exercise Motivation
Adopting the Fitness Lifestyle in Order to Accept Your Imperfections
Every single woman in this world is beautiful in more ways than one! It took me nearly my entire life to finally realize this. Ask me how I felt both emotionally and physically approximately four years ago and my response would have been much different than it is today. I was your average, athletic female that appeared to be content and living a happy life when in reality I was battling a demon inside myself. I put on my happy face for the outside world, but always went home and felt lonely, depressed, and lost. Ihated the way that I looked and I hated the way that I felt. I tried everything known to man in an attempt to become thin like many of the women that I saw at the gym or in the current gossip magazines; this is where the intense hatred for my appearance turned into an emotional battle.
Where I Came From And How It Changed My Life
After years of fighting and eventually beating the eating disordered lifestyle, I found my calling in life. Without the help of the gym and educating myself on the benefits of working out and eating properly, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I not only gained a positive outlook on life, but I gained a desire to help women all over the world do the same. Through all of my hardships, I came to realize that there are so many women in this world struggling with similar issues. I think it is important to recognize this, embrace it, and figure out the best solutions to feeling your best. I am here to educate, motivate, and guide females to become happy with themselves and stop comparing and competing with one another. I am a firm believer that adopting the fitness lifestyle will help women become stronger (both emotionally and physically) and in turn, positively impact all areas of life.
Females Share Similar Thought Patterns
The first step to achieve what you always thought was impossible is to realize that you are not alone in what you are thinking. The second step is to accept who you are, and the final step is to set goals for yourself and commit to a lifestyle that is going to make you content.
Women share a special bond with one another that is not completely explainable. Many of us fail to realize how similar we really are. Genetically we are extremely different; however, many of the thoughts and emotions that we face throughout our lifetime are closely related to the thoughts and feelings of the women that we are constantly comparing ourselves to. None of us are perfect and never will be. Society is not meant to have perfect people, so we need to stop setting this unrealistic goal for ourselves.
The Root Of The Problem
In a world where the media is everywhere, we are exposed to a variety of unique people and stories on a daily basis. There are constant reports on the newest and hottest celebrities. There are pages filled with the best miracle diets on the market. There are even professionals in the health and fitness industry that are setting so many women up for disaster. It’s human nature to believe the majority of articles that we read and compare ourselves to the gorgeous faces and physiques that we see. It is also common to try the latest fad diets and listen to the advice of many professionals just because of their credentials. The best advice I can give out is not to believe everything you read.
We Have All Been There
Have you ever been to the gym and looked at another female with envy? Of course! We all have; chances are she has done the same thing. Challenge yourself the next time you catch yourself falling a victim to negative thoughts; turn your envy into motivation. This minor scenario is all part of the ongoing bond that women share. You are both at the gym most likely with the same goal of feeling better about yourself both mentally and physically.
Have you ever opened up a magazine and dreamed of looking like the model staring at you in the face? Probably! Women naturally are never completely happy with how they look. We have even gone to the extremes of following the insane diets that are published on occasion or ordering a book that explains in great detail the diet guaranteed to make you lose weight quick and easy. Many of us have even fallen victims to the scary eating disorders that are taking over so many beautiful women’s lives. If we embrace our female bond and learn to encourage one another rather than compete with one another, then leading a healthy and fit lifestyle will be more of fun adventure rather than an inner struggle.
Working With What You Were Born With
We have all been there and have all wanted something other than what we were born with. It’s not a bad thing to strive for self- improvement, but we need to make sure that the focus is on developing yourself rather than trying to become someone else. We need to pursue goals that make us happy and improve our quality of life. Life is too short to constantly worry about others and about every single one of our flaws.
The first step to achieve both happiness and greatness is to believe in yourself. If you have that on your side, you are one step closer to your goal. Believe that you can overcome any obstacle that you are faced with and that you can achieve anything that you want out of life. I am a firm believer that if you want something bad enough in life, you will go out and get it. Set goals that make you happy! Never change who you truly are for the sake of pleasing others.
Don’t Let Working Out Intimidate You
There is so much to learn when it comes to fitness and working out. I will be the first to admit that I am still constantly educating myself. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek out help if you are lost. You don’t have to be a superstar athlete to adopt the fitness lifestyle; a small amount of exercise can work wonders for your health and self-esteem. Balancing a good nutrition program, exercise routine, and letting your body rest is going to help you meet your expectations and build your confidence. Make sure you pay attention to all three areas; eat for energy and health, mix up cardiovascular exercise and weight training, and get yourself some sleep!
Tips To Keep Up Your Exercise Motivation
The next time you start to slide with your exercise program, stop! On again off again exercise will never get you the results you want. Instead, use these six tips to stay on track and achieve and achieve your desired fitness goals:
1. Dont beat yourself up if you miss a workout. Life is full of challenges and unexpected obstacles. Setbacks happen. Dont let a couple of missed workouts turn into two months of inactivity.
2. Take a break. A plateau, burnout or lack of motivation might be your body asking for a break. Take an occasional break from your regular exercise routine for a few days or so, keeping active with some low intensity activities like walking or riding a beach cruiser.
3. Write it down. Does it ever seem like youre not getting anywhere? Monitor your program to adjust your regime as necessary. Writing it down also lets you measure the improvements youve made over time, which is good to review during times of waning motivation.
4. Treat yourself to technology. Tools like heart rate monitors and calorie trackers make exercise more fun and let you see instantly the results of your efforts.
5. Club it. If you like to bike, run, swim or dance, join a club. The social component makes it fun while the group can provide accountability and motivation to stay on track.
6. See the whole picture. Focus on all the benefits of exercise, like how a good workout makes you feel or the decrease in your cholesterol level. The more benefits you can identify the more motivated you are to exercise, even at times when you dont feel like it.
