Beyond your physical health, you should keep your weight under control for your own personal fulfillment. Obesity is a major cause for low self-esteem, and low self-esteem can prevent a person from developing other healthy social behaviors. Also, people who do something beneficial for themselves have a greater outlook on their life, relationships and their well-being. This positive energy can bring other positive things into a person’s life.

As you begin to feel better about yourself, you will naturally be in a good mood and feel like you can take on other tasks. People will admire your new-found sense of purpose.

Strive to become a good example for other people to follow. People often give up trying to lose weight because they don’t have anyone they can look up to. Your loved ones don’t want to see you with bad health. Sadly, obesity causes many good people to have horrible health. Heart conditions and diabetes are often associated with obesity and a lack of proper dieting.

You may have kids, parents, siblings and friends that all hope you get serious about your health. If you don’t want to stay healthy for yourself, stay healthy for your loved ones.
